KANE teamed up with top supply chain researchers, Peerless Research Group, to survey logistics executives on the strategies they employ for managing labor in the distribution center. The results of that research are summarized in this report.  Download the workforce management research report .

Among the findings:

• Hiring and keeping qualified/dependable workers is the toughest labor management challenge
• The ability to manage an efficient warehouse workforce is a skill that is growing in importance
• 18% of shippers use a full-featured labor management system
• 63% of LMS users report productivity gains of at least 10%, with some reporting gains of 35% or more.

With labor cost and performance pressures on the rise and the number of skilled warehouse workers dwindling, it’s clear that companies must invest the time to develop a strong workforce management strategy.
